PTFE Back up Seal

PTFE Backup Seal acts as a sacrificial, wear-resistant component, allowing for higher clearances, reduced friction, and extended service life in both static and dynamic Hydraulic/Pneumatic.

PTFE backup seals, commonly used to prevent O-ring extrusion in high-pressure (up to 250+ bar) and high-temperature (−60∘C to +250∘C) hydraulic or pneumatic systems, are engineered from PTFE or Filled PTFE Grades.

• Anti-Extrusion & High-Pressure Protection: They provide robust support to elastomeric O-rings, preventing them from being squeezed into clearances under extreme pressure, which causes premature failure.
• Exceptional Chemical Compatibility: Chemically inert, they resist strong acids, alkalis, and solvents, making them ideal for aggressive, harsh, or volatile environments where rubber fails.
• Extended Seal Life: By protecting the primary O-ring from damage, they significantly reduce maintenance, downtime, and replacement frequency.
