Overview

While NBR handles the basics and Viton handles the heat and chemicals, Silicon (VMQ) oil seals are the "specialists of flexibility." They are primarily chosen for their ability to remain rubbery in extreme cold and their excellent resistance to environmental aging.

Unlike the other two, Silicone has a unique molecular backbone that makes it incredibly stable but physically "soft."

Description

Silicone oil seals are high-performance, flexible rubber sealing components designed to prevent fluid leakage (oil, grease) and block contaminants in machinery. They are characterized by excellent resistance to extreme temperatures (typically −60∘C

to +250∘C), ozone, and aging, making them ideal for automotive, aerospace, and high-temperature industrial applications.

SPECIFICATIONS

Silicone oil seals are high-performance sealing components designed for extreme temperatures (−60∘𝐶 to +200∘𝐶/250∘𝐶) and superior ozone/weathering resistance. Typically manufactured with a hardness of 30-90 Shore A, these seals offer excellent flexibility, good oil resistance, and are commonly used in automotive, food-grade, and high-temperature machinery, often in red, black, or blue colors.
